We have multiple opportunities for Data Engineers from Analyst through to Senior Consultant level where you will be part of our Enterprise Data & Analytics team.

About the role

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for driving the delivery of the Right data to the Right customer at the Right time and at the Right Cost using the Right tools and the Right Technology on NAB’s target state (cloud) platforms (NDH, NDC, NRP).

What you’ll be doing

• Designing and delivering of solutions for data consumption projects from data warehouse
• Supporting and/or driving the design, build, testing and implementation of data transformation logic for data pipelines
• Supporting the move, flow and processing of reusable data assets for both Analytics and Insights
• Engaging in the initial stages of business requirements by participating in data sourcing, data gathering and integration processes
• Development of target-state data pipelines using Big Data technologies under appropriate governance and approved framework
• Enhancing availability, performance and stability of services as well as automating away repetitive work
• Building and optimizing SQL queries

What you will bring:

You will have experience and/or exposure in any of the following skills and technologies:

• Proven experience working as a Data Engineer, preferably for a large corporate organisation
• Exposure and/or experience in large scale data transformation
• Design and solution delivery experience of high-quality data processing pipelines
• Experience and/or exposure working with enterprise data warehouses with a closely integrated system providing or consuming data
• Knowledge and exposure to Big Data technologies Hadoop stack such as HDFS, Impala etc, and Cloud Big Data warehouses - RedShift, and Snowflake desirable
• Experience in Data Engineering, BI/software development such as ELT/ETL, data extraction and manipulation in Data Lake/Data Warehouse environment preferred
• Experience with SQL, Python, and open-source data tooling (Apache Kafka, Beam, Flink, Spark, Hive, ETL processing, etc.)
• Experience in data modelling, analysis, and profiling preferred
• Experience in working within an Agile environment desirable
